Green energy in the middle of the desert
THE BRIEF
During the Dakar Rally in January 2021, A.S.O., the race’s organizer, commissioned GCK Energy to supply 25% of the bivouac installed at NEOM in Saudi Arabia with green energy for three days. This operation is part of the #DakarFuture program launched in November 2020 by the A.S.O. to transform its event into a leading technological and environmental platform and thus contribute to the ongoing energy revolution.
THE ANSWER
GCK Energy has taken up this challenge by installing several hundred square metres of solar panels, including its Solar Gem(R) roof and 200 kVA/300 kWh mobile container.
GCK Energy at the biggest festivals
THE BRIEF
Eddy de Pretto, Liam Gallagher, Véronique Sanson… The line-up for the VYV Festival in Dijon was attractive! All that remained was to set up the three stages in the Parc de la Combe à la Serpent and power them with green electricity. To carry out this task, the organisers turned to event designers La Coulisse.
THE ANSWER
To supply part of the site off-grid, La Coulisse used our 200 kVA/300 kWh energy storage container, our 12 KVA/20 kWh energy storage rack and three Frame-Watt® solar roofs from our manufacturing partner Ecosun Innovations. The system produced 300 kWh and distributed 500 kWh of low-carbon energy.
A Bouygues site in Toulouse
THE BRIEF
Bouygues Construction Matériel Ile de France wanted to offer a stand-alone power supply solution to provide electricity for a base camp made up of 70 modules.
THE ANSWER
Deployment of a 70 kWp PV solution to recharge our 200 kVA / 300 kWh energy container coupled to a traditional genset. The order in which the genset is started is controlled by the battery pack, depending on the state of charge of the batteries.
World Rallycross Championship
THE BRIEF
In 2019, the FIA has announced that it will revolutionise the World Rallycross Championship (WRX) by replacing the traditional internal combustion engines with electric motors. A consultation has been launched to find the solution that will enable the batteries of the 20 race cars to be recharged quickly with green electricity.
THE ANSWER
GCK Energy has been chosen to be the exclusive supplier of electrical power solutions and recharging infrastructure. As such, our teams provide the necessary resources and equipment for the teams at each event.
Between each race, the cars recharge by drawing energy from our containers (330 kWh each), e-Truck (200 kWh) and solar roofs.
Solar-powered cars…
THE BRIEF
In order to meet the specifications defined by its customer, the Charles André Group, a specialist in automotive logistics, had to find a solution for recharging vehicles arriving by boat and stored in its fleet at the port of Le Havre.
THE ANSWER
In the absence of a grid connection, GCK ENERGY deployed a complete solution incorporating a 70 kWp fold-out solar container for continuous recharging of our energy container, which itself supplies 5 containerised 7.2-22 kW AC recharging stations.
This solution, which is still being deployed, enables 50 to 70 vehicles to be recharged every day completely off-grid.
40 fully-charged E-Transits for six weeks!
THE BRIEF
In early 2022, Ford of Europe invited 1,890 people (journalists, employees, customers) to Catalonia to try out the new E-Transit, a 100% electric commercial vehicle. The specifications issued by the organising agency Facets involved filling the batteries of 40 vehicles every day for six weeks!
THE ANSWER
GCK Energy deployed 6 mobile containers (200 kVA/300 kWh) to reinforce the electrical infrastructure of the building in the Port of Barcelona’s Logistics Activity Zone and power 40 chargers (22 kW AC Type 2) also installed by our team.
